Oil level warning
Volkswagenhas been experiencing a software glitch which is triggering an oil alert in some vans.
In case you see the message "Please Reduce Oil Level. Workshop!" or "Too much oil" on your dashboard this is, most likely, nothing to worry about as it is probably the glitch mentioned above.
However, on the safe side, please check the oil level of your van by following the instructions below:
- Stop the van and wait at least 20 minutes to make sure that the engine has cooled down.
- Below the steering wheel on the left, close to the driver's door, you will find a handle that you can pull towards you - this will open the hood;
- Locate the oil stick, remove it and clean it with paper (make sure it is properly clean on the indicator area)
- Put the stick back in, take it out again and see the oil level, with the stick horizontally.
The oil level is good when it it is between the first two circular shaped plastics (counting from the bottom of the stick).
If the oil level is higher than the second indicator, you should stop the van immediately and call our support line (+351 308 808 058) from 9h00 to 18h00 or the emergency line (after 18h00)
Considering the oil level indicator is good, you can ignore this message and carry on. Most of the times, the message will disappear after opening/closing the hood.
In case you are unsure about the oil level, feel free to send us a photo to support@siestacampers.com
